Placebo to play Open Air Gampel?

I heard a rumour that Placebo might be playing this year’s Open Air Gampel (19-22 August 2010) festival…that would be very nice. The cebo boys have played on average 2 festivals a year in Switzerland (excepting 2008), so with one already confirmed (RockOzArenes), perhaps they will treat us to another summer show. The Gampel site is apparently a lovely one, deep in the mountains near Leukerbad and Visp. But I don’t expect to hear any confirmations anytime soon, so guess I’ll just be waiting with fingers crossed.

Swiss festival updates, The Shout Out Louds and Johnossi

Hey! Swiss festival goers, don’t forget that in the next few weeks all will gradually be revealed for summer 2010′s biggest music festivals.

In other news, The Shout Out Louds will be playing @ Mascotte Wednesday 28th March. And Swedish rock duo Johnossi will be playing @ Abart Saturday 22nd May 2010. Johnossi gets my vote!

Thinking ahead…Festival Guide 2010

Already thinking about the summer festival season as an antidote to the dreariness of winter.

Last year I desperately wanted to go to the Paleo festival, but tix were all sold out. The line-up was so amazing, I’m still bummed about that. I swore that this year it wouldn’t happen to me again. This year I’m on the ball.

Here’s bit of a round up of European festivals, not exhaustive but the ones that I would choose if I had the time, money and wherewithal to go to them all. Lots of festivals haven’t announced their line-ups or even definite dates yet, so check the websites for details.
