The prolific Patrick Wolf has released yet more magnificence from the fecund recesses of his musical genius. To highlight surviving a whole decade in the music biz (it is 10 whole years since the release of his debut album Lycanthropy), he has released Sundark & Riverlight, a two-disc selection of songs from his five-album oeuvre that have been re-recorded and re-arranged in newly pared down, acoustic format. Featuring some of the most beloved of Wolf’s songs (‘The Magic Position’, ‘Bluebells’, ‘Bermondsey Street’, ‘Vulture’), the songs have been distilled down to their very essence, revealing their heartfelt, emotional core.
Patrick Wolf plays @ Kaserne, Basel, Sunday 21.10.12. Tix here.
Sundark & Riverlight is out now on Bloody Chamber Music/Essential.
