Newcastle band Shields have been hard at work over the last few months, putting the last bright, sparkly, finishing touches to their new EP Kaleidoscope. After the success of their first two singles, ‘Spires’ and ‘White Knuckle Tight Grip‘, they’ve have been cutting their live teeth with gigs at festivals all over Europe, including last week’s Reeperbahn Festival, and further honing their craft with support slots for the likes of Zulu Winter, Wintersleep, and To Kill A King. Busy bees, those Shields-sters!
The new EP promises more of the eminently listenable, fresh, modern Police-esque sound that Shields do so well – take a listen to ‘Mezzanine’, the first track from Kaleidoscope, and you’ll see what I mean:
Shields’ new EP Kaleidoscope is out on 19.11.12 on Riverman Records.
Shields are on tour with To Kill A King throughout October – check dates here.
