Love, love love Warpaint. They were the soundtrack of my summer festival season last year, accompanying me on my train journeys between festivals. I roamed over hill and dale, through vineyards, cities and alongside lakes with the sounds of the LA-based art/post rock all-girl guartet (Emily Kokal, Theresa Wayman, Jenny Lee Lindberg, and Stella Mozgawa) hypnotically crooning in my ears. And when I finally got to see them live (at Open Air St. Gallen), they were without a doubt one of the best gigs I saw all year. So good.
Check out their totally brilliant Rough Trade Session – ‘Burgundy’:
and ‘Billie Holiday’:
Warpaint play @ Rote Fabrik, ZH, Wednesday 11.07.12, and Paleo Festival, Nyon, Wednesday 18.07.12.
