Since the release of her critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2007, Norwegian singer-songwriter/pianist Susanne Sundfør has done nothing but collect awards and praise. The follow-up to Susanne Sundfør, 2010′s darkly folkloric and forboding The Brothel, went platinum in Norway and was nominated for the 2011 Nordic Music Prize. Phew! That’s quite a series of a achievements for a 26-year old.
Now she has released The Silicon Veil, a further exploration of, as she says, ‘Apocalypse, death, love, and snow’. Sounds intriguing (and possibly, very cold). The video for ‘White Foxes’, from The Silicon Veil, certainly seems to explore these themes, juxtaposed with a more modern technological landscape:
