I’ve been listening to and loving Californian band Evaline‘s Patterned EP for a long time now, and have been impatiently waiting for the release of their debut album – the three songs on Patterned + their 2006 EP Postpartum Modesty have only served to whet my appetite, now I want more: a full album, please!
To appease the clamouring public while they put the finishing touches on the new album, the band have released the video for ‘Hours’, made by the band’s very own Richard Perry, and featuring footage shot during the band’s Brixton shows supporting Placebo in late 2010 – a talented boy, that Perry:
Love the melodic intensity and dramatic vocals in this track – hope that is carried through to the new album.
The band are currently stateside, preparing for their appearance at this year’s SXSW festival, but keep an eye out for them this year – there is definitely the promise of great things to come from Evaline in 2011.
The Patterned EP is out now on Riverman Records. Evaline’s eagerly anticipated debut album will be released in 2011.
Evaline play at the too-good-to-be-true SXSW festival on Wednesday 16.03.11, midnight, with Alpha Rev, Dikta, Orbit, The Last Republic and Nelo at the Lustre Pearl, Austin, Texas.
