Fever Ray is the solo project of Swedish electronic artist Karin Dreijer Andersson (also half of the brother-sister duo The Knife). As she herself says, the album is ‘intense, anxious, yet luminous’, created in that crazy fevered time of new motherhood (I can sense the delirious exhaustion all too well). ‘Triangle Walks’ has weird elongated vocals, and a beat-inflected pulse that lingers long after the song has finished. And the video is seriously creepy (bringing to my mind nothing less than the three freaky sisters of Greek mythology, The Graeae, who lived in a cave and shared just the one eye and tooth among them).
